Wrestler Responsibilities

From former Raider Brandon Sullivan:
The Raiders program helped me progress in my wrestling
career, but, more importantly, it provided me the opportunity
to meet friends who I am still very close with today.
I'm grateful to the coaches who volunteered their time
and efforts to make the program as successful as it is, and
giving me the chance to wrestle with some of the greatest
guys I've ever known.
Brandon's honors:
- CB West Wrestling Captain 2004
- Kingsbury Coaches Award
- PA All-Academic Team Honorable Mention 2004
- District 1 4th place finisher 2004
- Regional 6th place finisher 2004
- Bux-Mont champion 1996-97
- Ridley Christmas Classic Champion 2002, 2003

Support your child!
Think about the reasons your that son has
decided to participate in the program. Most of the young men
are here for one of the following reasons; to be with their
friends, to learn the sport, to be part of a team, to gain
recognition from their parents, and to be successful. Support
your son in every way that you are able. Show interest, attend
matches and practices, and help them learn and get involved.
Get involved!
Our coaching staff, their assistants, and
the directors each donate their time in order to run a sound
program. But, they cannot run the program without you. We
request that the parents of all wrestlers get involved in
some area of the organization. All of you have already been
or will be asked to select an area or areas of the program
in which to help. The volunteer positions include:
- Coaching assistants
- Team parents
- Concession stand helpers
- Banquet organizers
- Mat set-up helpers
- Timekeepers
- Scorekeepers
- Uniform handout
- Publicity
Absolutely none of the positions require prior
experience. Our only requirement is a desire to lend a hand
toward making the season successful for every wrestler in
the program. So get involved and offer your help -- the rewards
are definitely worth it. Schedules will be distributed showing
when, where and how each parent will be helping the Central
Bucks Raiders this season.
Talk to us!
As a member of the Raiders, your opinions
are very important. If your have questions or recommendations
regarding the program, please let them be known by contacting
your sons coach or any member of the Board of Directors.
The schedule of Board meetings is listed in
the attached calendar. Meetings are held on a monthly basis.
Everyone involved in the program is invited to attend the
meetings. The parents involved in the program elect members
of the board. Elections are held in the spring and the term
of the position is one year. The by-laws of the program are
available by request.
Occasionally, you may disagree with the way
the organization is managed or the way in which you child
is coached. In this situation, we ask that you take the following
steps:
- Speak to the coach promptly and privately.
- If you are not satisfied with the coachs
response, speak to the Director of Wrestling.
- If the Director of Wrestling cannot resolve
your concern satisfactorily, place your concern on the agenda
for the next scheduled Board meeting.
- Call 215-262-5284
Most disagreements are the result of simple
misunderstandings and step one will resolve the majority.
Demonstrate good sportsmanship!
- Refrain from sideline coaching. Let the
coaching staffs do their job.
- Do not criticize coaches, wrestlers or
cheerleaders on our opposing teams by word or gesture.
- Accept the decisions of game officials
as being fair and called to the best of their ability.
- Do your best to assure that all participants
will have an enjoyable experience with the Raiders.
